The Visions of Monroe Public Schools Art
Contest was the combined efforts of the Monroe
Technology Department and the Monroe Public
Schools Art Department and staff. The art
contest and subsequent art show displays work
from all grade levels for all students who chose
to participate. All participants received
an award in many categories such as colorful,
administrator's pick, teacher's pick, artistic,
creative, runner-up and first place. First
place winners will have their work displayed in
the central administration offices of the school
system. This art work will be come the desktop
image on the district computers in the winners
school until next year when the contest is run
again.Students were asked to
create art work in any medium that reflected
their personal vision of Monroe Public Schools.
This assignment in most cases was done at home
and then submitted through their school art
teacher.
